Grade 6/7 No Electricity Day Predictions

15 comments:

  1. For the no-electricity day on Thursday, I think that, despite the lights, it won’t be much different. First of all, in Math, we usually only use electricity for the Problem of The Day. Just book and paperwork all class, like most days. In Science and Health, it could be copying notes off the chalkboard or paper. At home, it could be different though, with no writing on the computer, heated suppers, television, or lights when you read! At least I can read, though, just not with lights.

  2. I think no electricity day will be very neat. I think we will get a chance to see a little of how the pioneers lived. It’s going to be weird though going to school and having no lights on and using the chalk board. When I go home I usually go on the computer, read, watch TV and go outside. So I can still read and go outside but Ill need to find something different to do. It will be weird not to watch my favorite TV shows after supper. Instead my family and I could play board games or tell stories.

  3. I think the day with no electricity will be fun and challenging. Also it will be hard because we will not be able to type, so we will have to write all day.
We will also not be able to heat up our food. It will kind of be like back in the days they had no electricity. Back then to cook food they would make fires to make their food.

At home it will be hard because we will not be able to eat toast or eggs, we will only be able to eat cereal.
We will not be able to call our friends to come over if the battery dies in our phone. We will have to hop on our bikes and go to their house.

If we had to go 10 days with out any showers it would be bad because we would really stink, we would have to go to the river to get clean.

In conclusion I think it would be really hard to go without power, because we will have to write every thing by hand, also we will have to make fires to cook our food.
All in all I think it will be a long boring day.

  4. I think that people will struggle because they would be familiar with having electricity everyday. They will have to bring a lunch that you do not heat in the microwave and we will not have lights in our class, so if it’s not sunny it will be hard to see our work.

At home we would not be able to use our oven to cook food, so we could use the BBQ if we were going to cook meats or something like that. Another challenge would will we not be able to use lights when it gets dark out so we will have to use candles to give us some light. We also would not be able to take a shower,

  5. I think no electricity day will be fun because it’s good to not use electricity and I would like to use the chalk board.
There’s also some of radiation that comes from microwaves and computers so we may be healthier.
I think it will be a lot different because we use electricity so much like we do
Our research and our projects we will have to use the library to find books we can use
    for research.

  6. Living without power

I think it will be a fun day because we will be able to see what it would be like to live when there was no such thing as power. It will be cold but it will be good to play games that don’t run on power. Kids will be more active because they will not go home and play video games they will go biking or something. It will be hard because we are so use to using power that it will feel weird not using it.

  8. I think that it will be a great activity with all the things that we did in social studies like studying Africa and we will now know what it will be like and know how lucky we are. I think the day will be hard though, but we will have to push ourselves and encourage our classmates.

I think the day will be hard because we have technology and we can’t bring microwavable things and we can’t do half the work we normally do on computers. When I go home I will do the usual; go out side and play soccer or baseball and maybe go for a bike ride. If we have to do something on the computer and do homework then that will be a problem. When I need to eat I will go to the shed and put some meat on a pan and cook it or ill have a couple of sandwiches.
And for breakfast ill have peanut butter sandwiches and for dinner at school ill have a sandwich. That will probably cover every thing for the day I think for me.

Over all I think it will be very fun.

  9. I think that no electricity day is going to be very hard because we will not be able to use the computer in any of our classes and most of our work is done on the computer.
I also think that I will learn a lot about what it’s like to live in places that never have electricity. We will also have to bring a lunch that that does not need to be heated up. All in all I think it going to be an extremely fun day!

  10. I think that people will struggle with no electricity day and it will be hard. We can’t bring microwaveable foods or do work on computers. Also and we can’t use electricity at home or use cordless phones and we will have to have non microwavable food or food not for the stove for supper. For supper I am going to cook some moose steak on the BBQ. I think the biggest challenge for me will be staying clean.

  11. I ‘m so exited for Thursday! It will be like kuujjuaq! In kuujuaq there was a time you were allowed to use and not allowed to use in my family’s house like 30 minutes on the TV and 10 minutes on the computer for the whole day!
It will probably be hard for some people but it will be easy for me!
It will be like camping! For me, it’s a great Idea to do that so the people in my class can know how it feels to have no electricity for a day!
My schedule after school is do my homework when I finish my homework I go play outside after that its supper time then I do the dishes all of them then play a couple of board games with my family then its bedtime! –Brianna .W

  12. I think that math, French and gym will not be very different. However language arts will be more difficult. I think the day will be fun yet challenging, because we are so used to using electricity to do almost everything. We will probably have to eat different foods, because we will not be able to cook anything.
I think I will probably learn a lot from having no electricity for a whole day. I will learn how lucky we are to have power, because we think its nothing, we just flick a light switch and we have power, but not every body has it.
I think it will be good to learn how it is to go without power, because a lot of the time we take it for granted. I think the next time we turn on a light or turn on the heat we will really think how lucky we are to have the ability to do so.

  13. No electricity day

I think the day will be a challenge because it will be hard to cook food and it might be cold without the heaters. It may also be hard to see when it’s dark without the lights Classes will be different because we rely on a lot of machines that use electricity form pencil sharpeners to computers.

The day will be hard because we will have to adjust a lot because computers are such a big piece of our culture now. When the power goes out it seems like a real emergency and school is usually cancelled so it will be different to try to go a whole day without any kind of technology.

When I get home I will not be able to use the computer or cook on the stove so I will have to eat something that does not have to be heated up and I will avoid opening the fridge so that the cold air inside of that will keep everything cold so the food does not go bad. Overall I think that no electricity day will be different but it could be fun too.

  14. When we have the no electricity day I think it will be very, fun because we won’t be able to use the lights, and we will be using the chalk board.
It will also be hard, because we won’t be able to use the smart board, microwave, power, or the computers.
Also it may be boring, because what will I do when I get home. The only thing I can do is go outside, ride my bike, or go for a walk.

  15. I think that a day in school without electricity will be good because using less electricity is good for the environment. We use power every day so for one day it shouldn’t be difficult. It will be hard because we will not be able to microwave our food. We will not be able to use the computers to help us with our work in class.
When I get home I usually watch t.v. but I will not be able to do that. Instead I will do homework and chores.
